Johnny Ace

Back in the 50’s, Ace was an incredibly talented R&B singer but his death at just 25 is one that is recalled more often than his talent. During a break at a performance in Texas, he was playing around with .22-caliber revolver and this was not uncommon for the 25 year old.

His bass player saw the entire thing unfold, Ace was playing around with the gun and someone said to him, “Be careful with that thing.” To which he promptly responded, “It’s okay! Gun’s not loaded… see?” Then bang, it was all over.

Joseph Henry Green

This one is just a tad bit creepy, no really. Green was an English surgeon and in 1863, he passed away from an actue seizure. You’d think that was pretty normal, and it is.

It’s the fact that he was checking his own pulse just before his death with his final word, “Stopped.” As in, he felt his own heart stop and quite literally dropped dead. Creepy, wouldn’t you say? Basically, he pronounced himself dead.
