A doctor intervenes
Suddenly, a man from the waiting room, identifying himself as a doctor, pushed his way through the crowd. He quickly knelt down beside the vet, checking his pulse and calling for medical supplies with a calm authority. Erica held Kayla close to her, her eyes fixed on the doctor as he worked with impressive calm, giving quick and precise orders. The whole room held its breath, anxiously awaiting any sign that the vet was improving, but the heavy air of uncertainty hung over everyone.

Kayla clung to her mother, her small body trembling visibly. “Is he going to be okay, Mom?” she whispered, her voice trembling with fear. Erica squeezed her tighter, trying to convey some reassurance, although her own uncertainty tightened her chest. The sight of the vet lying on the ground, added to the mystery surrounding the creatures, made Kayla even more desolate. Her concern, previously focused on the animals, now included the man who had tried to help them, and his health seemed as vulnerable as that of the beings in front of him.
