Preparations for Approach
The squad started getting ready for the approach methodically. Nets were unfolded, gloves put on, and tranquilizer guns examined. There was a sense of caution, a respect for the unknown thing in front of them, yet each member appeared to move with a practiced ease that was consistent with their expertise with wildlife. Cole watched with a mix of anticipation and relief. Since this was unfamiliar ground, each step needed to be cautious and deliberate.

The group kept a safe distance from the beast and circled it warily. They had never seen anything like its tangled fur, which was partially hidden by the jacket. Partially visible long limbs culminated in what appeared to be enormous paws. The early silence was broken by the gentle wheezing sound of its strained breathing. With their eyes fixed on the monster, everyone scrawled notes, attempting to take in every nuance of its strange body.
