Now that the animal was nearly completely out of the water, Cole could see exactly what it was. He didn’t waste any time in calling 911 for assistance because he couldn’t possibly get this animal to safety by himself. The animal appeared tired and unthreatening, but Ranger Cole did not take any chances. He didn’t want to take the chance of getting wounded.

“This is Ranger Cole. I need backup right now. I’ve discovered a… well, it comes with a large cage and tranquilizing darts. Before the dispatcher could say anything, Cole said, “Tell them to bring someone from the nearby wildlife center as well.” “Well, all right. Remain at your current location. The operator finally answered, “They’re on their way.” Cole, however, had other plans than to wait patiently.
