When I asked Jenna directly if Emily’s father was my ex-husband, she confirmed the connection with a slow nod. “Is that the man?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper. Jenna returned the look, guilt and pain on her face. Slowly, she nodded and tears came to her eyes. Confirmation hit me hard, a mixture of anger and sadness swirling inside me. I took a deep breath and struggled to process the revelation.
