Preoccupied with the Doll
From my vantage point at the kitchen counter, I could see how fixated she was on the little doll. Her laughter provided a melodious soundtrack to our nighttime turmoil, bringing a smile to both me and my husband. I turned to him and murmured, “She really loves that doll, doesn’t she?” He nodded, softly chuckling as our daughter continued to play blissfully, engrossed in her own imagination with her new toy.

After dinner, I took over the kitchen to clean up, while my husband started the bedtime routine for our daughter. Even as she splashed about in the bath, she wouldn’t release go of the baby doll. “You need both hands to wash up, sweetheart,” my husband said gently. Nonetheless, she held on tightly, causing us to exchange amused looks. Her strong hold made me question how attached she had been already.
