A Police Officer
When the man left the store, Alicia became busy with customers again. Each one wanted a different bargain than the last. She couldn’t even recap the incident when the man returned into the shop. When she looked up and saw him standing there, she saw a police officer standing with the man. She couldn’t help but feel shocked that the man was accompanied by an officer of the law. This time, she had a feeling she might be in trouble.

Alicia tried keeping busy and ignored the fact that the man was back by taking care of a customer. Instead, she focused on serving the customer since there were a lot of them lined up at the counter. Still, she couldn’t help but be distracted by the man and the police officer. They were towards the back of the store, not in the line behind the rest of the customers. She wondered if they wanted to talk to her privately.
