As Mick Brisgau – a police officer from Essen who wakes up from a coma after 20 years – he conquered numerous women’s hearts from 2010 to 2014 – even though he actually plays the total macho man. But is he actually a chauvinist in real life? “My wife says: yes,” Henning once said dryly. The actor flirts with his image (“When we have problems, we men retreat into our cave – and sort it out with ourselves.”) and, like his series alter ego, doesn’t care about new-fangled trends. However, fitness was a must for the role and the actor also enjoyed training: “I like boxing and do very strenuous gymnastics. The trainer pushes me so hard that I almost collapse afterwards. But I love pushing myself to my limits, to the point of total exhaustion.”

But the sacking did nothing to stop her young career from slowly taking off – on the contrary. At the end of the 1950s, she became the youngest member of Vienna’s Theater in der Josefstadt and that was just the beginning of a long journey full of successes. After working with Heinz Rühmann in “Der brave Soldat Schweijk”, Senta Berger moved to Hollywood at the beginning of the 60s. There she filmed with film greats such as Charlton Heston, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Richard Harris, George Hamilton, Kirk Douglas and John Wayne. But her stay in the USA was to remain just an excursion. She returned to Europe at the end of the 60s and from then on mainly appeared in Italian productions.
