Staying composed

Despite everything going on, I maintained my composure and focused on the tasks at hand. Taking orders, delivering plates, and checking on customers kept me busy and distracted. As I wiped down the last table, a sense of empowerment washed over me. It felt good to be useful again, something I hadn’t experienced in a long time. By the end of my shift, I realized I had made it through the day.
