Zac watched as one of the vets filled a syringe with a calming substance. “Okay, so that’s what we’re doing now?” Zac inquired, raising his eyebrows. “We’ll try this first,” the veterinarian said, keeping an eye on Lola. Zac nodded, attempting to imagine the next stages. “This should help her relax,” the vet remarked, oozing confidence that Zac hoped was justified.
